2022 MacBook Air to Get Major Design Upgrade: With M2 Chip !!

A major design upgrade is expected for the 2022 MacBook Air. Based on the clues available so far, tech media outlet AppleInsider has produced a high-definition rendering of what it might look like. MacBook Air hasn't changed its shape since it was shown out of the envelope in 2008, but that will change with the release of the M2 chip.

Like the redesigned 24-inch iMac, the new MacBookAir will feature a thinner, lighter chassis and a brighter color scheme. The renderings produced show a beige bezel, notched display, and white keyboard.

The tapered case design has always been a signature part of MacBook Air, but its thinness is an illusion because there is a raised ramp to accommodate its internal components. Now Apple can fit everything into a case that's just wide enough to accommodate a Thunderbolt 4 port.

The aluminum case will likely take the more rounded shape of the 14-inch MacBook Pro design, but with color options. We expect Apple to mimic the colors of the 24-inch iMac, with blue, green, pink, silver, yellow, orange, and purple to choose from. The interior color will be a little more subdued, with white buttons embedded in a color-matched aluminum base. The bezel around the display is expected to be beige and has a camera housing for the bangs.

Noted leaker Jon Prosser has previously shared renders based on images of disassembled parts given to him. These renders show a case without a tapered outer shell, possibly to ensure that there is room for internal components in the thinner design.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo thinks Apple may add a mini LED-backlit display to the new MacBook Air. The 13.3-inch display would be the smallest MacBook with that technology and would have the most affordable price.

Thanks to improved I/O, the M2 is said to give the MacBook Air two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a MagSafe connector for charging. Although not yet confirmed, we expect the laptop to be able to drive multiple external displays, unlike the 2020 model. the M2 will have better performance than the M1, but probably not as good as the M1 Pro or M1 Max. it will likely have more technology, such as a media engine and a faster neural engine.
